Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Famous for its majestic baobab trees and vast elephant herds along the Tarangire River, this park provides an exceptional start to your wildlife route.

Day 2: Tarangire to Mto wa Mbu, Engaruka, & Lake Natron

Day 3: Lake Natron to Karatu

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Central Serengeti (Seronera)

Day 5: Central Serengeti to Western Corridor

- Activity: Game drives along the Seronera and Grumeti rivers searching for big cats and resident crocodile populations.

Vehicle Selection & Specifications
- Recommended Vehicle: Toyota Land Cruiser 78 Series (TroopyPrados and RAV4s are unsuitable for the severe corrugations on the Lake Natron track.
- Serengeti Permitted Status: Land Cruiser Troopy vehicles registered with commercial/tourist licenses are fully permitted in all TANAPA parks, including Naabi Hill Gate and Ikoma/Robanda Gate.
- Permitted Routes:
- The Mto wa Mbu → Engaruka → Lake Natron (Ngare Sero) track is permitted.
- Driving on the Ngorongoro Crater Floor is permitted for the vehicle, but requires a licensed NCAA ranger/guide
2. Night Driving Regulations & Specific Solutions
- Park Regulations: Driving inside TANAPA National Parks and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area between 18:00 and 06:00 is strictly prohibited. Fines apply for late gate exits.
- Airport Transfer (08 Oct at 19:00): Permitted since this takes place on public roads outside national park boundaries (Arusha/Mwanza town areas).
- Balloon Convoy (13 Oct at 05:00 in Serengeti): Official hot air balloon operators provide an authorized convoy/escort or transfer from designated camps to the launch pad before 06:00. Self-driving unescorted inside the park at 05:00 is not allowed; you must join the balloon operator’s official vehicle pickup or follow their registered lead vehicle.
3. Vehicle Insurance & Rental Policies
- Fuel Policy: Full-to-full basis with unlimited daily kilometers.
- Vehicle Insurance:
- Comprehensive insurance covers collision damage and third-party liabilities. Tires, glass/windshields, and undercarriage damage caused by rough off-roading are generally excluded from standard coverage unless an optional CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) top-up is selected.
- Driver’s License: A valid Spanish driving license is accepted for short-term tourist visits (up to 90 days), provided it is written in the Roman alphabet. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is recommended to prevent issues at traffic checkpoints.
- Breakdown & Assistance: 24/7 roadside phone support is provided. In the event of a mechanical failure inside a park, a replacement vehicle or mobile mechanic is dispatched from the nearest hub (Arusha, Karatu, or Mwanza).
- Cancellation Policy:
- Free cancellation up to 30 days prior to pickup.
- 50% charge for cancellations within 14–29 days.
- Non-refundable within 7 days of pickup.
